The Power of Poetry with author Jaspreet Kaur

Join Jaspreet Kaur, spoken word artist, writer and author of ‘Brown Girl Like me’. She presented on TEDx London Talk on ‘How Poetry Saved My Life’, explored how the power of words gave her the confidence to overcome her own mental health struggles. Again, this will not only provide students insight into how Jaspreet managed her mental health struggle.
The session is designed to enable you to see the possibilities of language in shaping and creating meaning.
Poetry as sound, detached from meaning will be the starting point and source of inspiration. We will focus on experimenting with words and practice in writing poetry related to belonging, culture, identities, and Partition.
